Firestorm supports the acquisition of Marie-Louise Ekman’s work by Moderna Museet
Firestorm Foundation is proud to have contributed to the acquisition of Marie-Louise Ekman’s Hemma hos en dam I–IV/ At a Lady’s Home I–IV (1973) by Moderna Museet. Painted in oil on canvas with walls of faux fur, the four works place a lone woman inside a domestic interior that is at once claustrophobic and theatrical. A man and a dog recur across the canvases in increasingly unsettling configurations, as the familiar logic of everyday life gradually gives way to something far less stable.
Working at the intersection of figuration and the absurd, Ekman constructs interiors that are as psychologically precise as they are visually arresting. Firestorm Foundation is proud to have contributed to this acquisition.
Acquired in 2026 with support from Firestorm Foundation and Österlindska stiftelsen.
