Firestorm supports the acquisition of Tracey Emin’s work by the Guggenheim

September 1, 2023

Firestorm Foundation is proud to have helped the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, acquire There Was No Right Way by Tracey Emin in 2023. The painting was inspired by photographs of archaeological burial sites, where human remains were discovered entwined—skeletons locked in a perpetual embrace.

Are they bound by love, loss, or something in between? Emin leaves that unanswered. Some see pain in these works, but she has called them her warmest. “I had fucking cancer... I can feel more than ever that love is allowed,” she told Artnet News in 2020.

We’re honored to support this acquisition and to help bring more of Emin’s work into major public collections.
