Firestorm Foundation is proud to present the first Firestorm Talk of the fall with artist Marie-Louise Ekman. She is currently the subject of two major solo exhibitions in Stockholm: Förklara allt – Nu. at Konstakademien and a retrospective at CFHILL. In 2023 she created a permanent classroom installation at the Stockholm School of Economics, enriched by two of her glass chandeliers donated by Firestorm. For over six decades, Ekman has shaped Swedish culture through her artistic practice, as well as in her leadership roles at the Royal Institute of Art and the Royal Dramatic Theatre.
We are delighted to welcome Marie-Louise Ekman to the newly inaugurated auditorium at SSE. The conversation will be moderated by Michael Storåkers, Firestorm Foundation Partner and PhD student at SSE.
Join us as Ekman reflects on her artistic journey, her cultural impact and the visibility of women artists today.
SSE Art Initiative and Firestorm Foundation Firestorm Foundation is a non-profit initiative founded in 2021, dedicated to highlighting female and non-binary artists for a more inclusive art world. Beginning in 2025, the foundation will support initiatives at SSE to advance knowledge and promote equality for female and non-binary artists through seminars, a master’s thesis scholarship, and donations to the SSE Permanent Collection.
